Wallpaper History Study Day,
Strawberry Hill

Thirty wallpaper enthusiasts from five countries gathered at Strawberry Hill for a study day exploring three centuries of historic wallpapers, techniques and materials. Following a brief illustrated historical review, delegates, in three small groups, with the aid of historic handling examples explored hand made, and machine made wallpapers, and toured Strawberry Hill to examine surviving examples in situ.

The day was polished off with a short talk on the deterioration and conservation of wallpapers. For a review of the day see the WHS Newsletter Issue 8, pp 9-10.
